Marina rules

The Harbor Master is Porkkala Marina’s representative in the harbor and his instructions must be followed.

The guest berths are primarily intended for the temporary mooring of pleasure boats. Information on the port’s guest places, service buildings and services can be seen on signposts and available from the port office.

The Harbor Master indicates the berths. This may lead to a situation where guests may be asked to move the boat to another location, depending on the situation, in order to make the best use of the berths in the port.

Mooring at the port is at the boat owner’s own responsibility and risk. The port is not liable for damage or loss caused by a storm, another boat or its crew.

The port fee is paid online or to the port office against a receipt. The receipt should be affixed to the boat in a visible place so that it is easily visible when viewed from the dock.

The visitor should take into account good manners and the comfort of fellow boaters. This includes

  1. Use the lowest speed.

  2. Recreation in the port and portarea is prohibited. The ban also applies to powered inflatable boats.

  3. Necessary care must be taken when attaching to and detaching from the dockwhile on the dock. When the boat is at the dock on its sides, side guards according to the size of the boat must be used to avoidside damage.

  4. The boat should be moored with ropes dimensioned according to the weight of the boat, taking into account the weather conditions.

  5. The use of boat toilets with direct connections to the sea is prohibited. Draining of septic and binge water in the port area is prohibited.

  6. Observe cleanliness in common areas such as toilets, showers and saunas.

  7. Observe cleanliness. Take the waste to the appropriate collection containers. Hazardous waste, such as waste oil, batteries or accumulators, must only be left in the appropriate collection containers or points.

  8. Due to general risk of fire, use of grills and open fires in the port area on boats is strictly prohibited.

  9. To avoid accidents, piers must be kept clean of ropes, power cords and other loose items objects as buckets, children’s toys and inflatables.

  10. Electrical connection points (10 A, 230 V). Connection to electrical points at your own risk and only electrical equipment with earth-leakage protection and / or earthing systems may be connected to the electrical system. Electricity is for charging boat’s batteries.

  11. Riding bicycles on the piers is prohibited.

  12. Pets should be kept tethered on land and piers.

  13. Drinking alcohol on piers and outside drinking areas is prohibited.

  14. The volume of the radio, recorder or other audio equipment must be set to a level that takes into account good manners and the comfort of co-boaters.

  15. There is silence in the port area between 23.00 and 07.00, good manners and the comfort of fellow boaters must also be remembered during the day.

The Harbor Master has the right to instruct to leave and also to remove a crew that does not follow the above instructions or may cause an accident to another.
